Terms & Conditions of Service

1.  Disclaimer

‍ ‍

Crowded House Decluttering (CHD) is a professional decluttering and home organisation company who will work with you to help you declutter your home and achieve the organisation and presentation you desire. 

‍ ‍

The decision to donate, sell or dispose of an item is entirely your responsibility. I accept no liability for decisions you make based on my recommendations, whether these are provided during consultations or throughout the decluttering and organising process.

‍ ‍

2.  Travel Area

‍ ‍

I work within a 5-mile radius of KT15 to ensure I can provide a consistent and reliable service to my clients.

‍ ‍

For locations outside of this area, sessions may still be available, subject to an additional travel charge. This will be confirmed in advance based on distance.

‍ ‍

3.  Consultations

‍ ‍

I offer a free in-home consultation to assess your space, understand your needs, and discuss the most suitable approach for your home and household.

‍ ‍

Following your consultation, a personalised written proposal will be provided within 48 hours.

‍ ‍

Consultation appointments are offered based on availability and are intended for clients who are genuinely considering moving forward with support from CHD.

‍ ‍

For consultations that are located outside a 5-mile radius of KT15, an additional travel charge will be applicable. This will be confirmed in advance based on distance.

‍ ‍

4.  Proposals & Estimates

‍ ‍

Any time estimates I provide are intended as a guideline only. The pace of progress may vary depending on the volume of items and how quickly decisions are made during the process.

‍ ‍

My role is to guide and support you in making decisions efficiently, while ensuring the systems we create are practical and sustainable for your home.

‍ ‍

5.  Session Structure

‍ ‍

To allow sessions to be focussed and effective while making meaningful progress each time, organising sessions are 3 hours in length.

‍ ‍

Specific dates and times will be provided for you to choose from.

‍ ‍

6.  Refreshments & Breaks

‍ ‍

Breaks will be taken as needed during sessions and are included within the session time.

‍ ‍

I will provide my own food and refreshments unless otherwise agreed in advance.

‍ ‍

7.  Sessions & Outcomes

‍ ‍

During our sessions, I provide hands-on decluttering and organising support and guidance, as well as support creating practical, sustainable systems that are tailored to your household and are easy to maintain long-term.

‍ ‍

While we aim to make significant progress in each session, full completion of a space cannot be guaranteed within a fixed timeframe, as this depends on the volume of items and decision-making throughout the process.

‍ ‍ ‍

8.  Session Pricing

‍ ‍

Session pricing will be confirmed in advance of booking and outlined within your personalised proposal.

9.  Booking & Availability

‍ ‍

Sessions are offered at specific dates and times based on availability. 

‍ ‍

Bookings are secured on a first confirmed (paid) basis.  Available session times may be offered to multiple clients and are not held without payment.

‍ ‍

For larger or more complex projects, multiple sessions or ongoing support may be recommended.

‍ ‍

10.  Payment 

‍ ‍

All sessions must be paid for in full at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received.

‍ ‍

Payment details will be provided when session dates and times are offered.

‍ ‍

CHD is not VAT registered at this time.

‍ ‍

11.  Cancellation & Rescheduling

‍ ‍

If you need to reschedule a session, please provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Sessions may be rescheduled once without penalty and will be offered at available times.

‍ ‍

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable. This is because your session time has been specifically reserved and is unlikely to be filled at short notice.

‍ ‍

If I need to reschedule a session for any reason, an alternative appointment will be offered or a full refund provided where applicable.

‍ ‍

12.  Parking & Additional Costs

‍ ‍

Any parking costs incurred during a session will be payable by the client. These will be communicated and reimbursed separately, with receipts provided where applicable.

‍ ‍

13.  Working Conditions

‍ ‍

To allow sessions to be as focussed and effective as possible, I recommend minimising distractions during our time together where you can. I understand that family life, children and pets are part of many households, and sessions will always be approached with flexibility and understanding.

‍ ‍

If there are any factors that you feel may impact the session, please feel free to discuss them with me in advance so we can plan the best approach together.

‍ ‍

If I determine that the working area is inaccessible or unsafe, I reserve the right to cancel or stop the session without issuing a refund.

‍ ‍

CHD operates in smoke-free homes only.

‍ ‍

Please note that I am unable to move furniture or carry heavy items. Kindly ensure that the area designated for the session is reasonably accessible.

‍ ‍

Your attendance and involvement during sessions is important to help achieve the best possible results.

‍ ‍

For safety and emergency purposes, another individual will always be informed of my location and session schedule.

‍ ‍

14.  Photography

‍ ‍

As part of the decluttering and organising process, before-and-after photographs may be taken during sessions to document progress, support planning, and for use on the CHD website and social media.

‍ ‍

Your privacy and dignity will always be respected. No identifying personal information will ever be shared, and photographs used for marketing purposes will only be shared with your consent.  Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

‍ ‍

15.  Testimonials

‍ ‍

CHD welcomes testimonials and feedback.  By providing a testimonial, you consent to it being published on www.crowdedhousedecluttering.com, on CHD’s social channels and other marketing collateral.  When testimonials are published, only limited details will be shared to ensure you remain unidentifiable.

‍ ‍

16.  Confidentiality and Privacy

‍ ‍

CHD is a professional service and will not share any personal or business details without your consent, save as required or permitted by law or by relevant regulatory authorities.

‍ ‍

17.  Insurance

‍ ‍

CHD holds Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance through Westminster Insurance. Details can be provided on request.

‍ ‍

While every care will be taken when handling your possessions, clients remain responsible for ensuring they have appropriate insurance cover for their belongings.

‍ ‍

18.  General Terms

‍ ‍

I reserve the right to refuse or stop a session if necessary, including where working conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.

‍ ‍

While I take care when handling items, I am not liable for any loss or damage unless caused by negligence.

‍ ‍

All decisions regarding items remain the responsibility of the client.

‍ ‍

19.  Associations

‍ ‍

CHD is a full Member of APDO UK (The Association of Professional Declutters and Organisers) and abides by its Code of Ethics.
