Terms and Conditions Of Service for In-home sessions
Scope of Work/ My Commitment to My Clients
Crowded House Decluttering is a professional decluttering and home organisation company who will work with you to help you achieve the organisation and presentation you desire in your home.
Our Scope of work includes:
Helping to improve spaces for better systems and processes
Working side by side, in-home and remote sessions
Guidance and support with deciding what to keep
Gentle support in making decisions on what to do with items no longer loved or used
Advice on space saving, organising and storage solutions, and making the best possible use of space
Assistance organising space after decluttering (including relocating items to more appropriate locations within your home)
Help with cleaning such as dusting and polishing, sweeping and hoovering at the end of a project or session
Research and advice on local amenities and recycling facilities for decluttered items
Decluttering assistance prior to sale of property and helping you unpack when moving or downsizing
Paperwork simplification
Partnering with a local handyman to complete small jobs such as shelving etc.
Any heavy lifting or moving furniture may be delayed if it requires additional assistance.
After each session, I will email a summary of what we achieved in that session and confirm any next steps, including confirmation of the date and the time of the next session (if applicable). I am unable to provide advice or support between sessions.
I will only undertake the work that is detailed in these Terms and Conditions. If and when appropriate, I will invite clients to seek other forms of professional help.
Removal of Clutter
The decision to donate, sell or dispose of an item is entirely your responsibility and Crowded House Decluttering cannot accept any liability for any items later deemed to be valuable.
All items are donated or disposed of with your authorisation and responsibility is not accepted by Crowded House Decluttering for any item disposed or donated which you later decide was valuable, should not have been disposed of or which you are unable to find later.
Disclaimer
Crowded House Decluttering will support you to make decisions about your belongings and your home. It is important that you make the final decisions yourself and Crowded House Decluttering will not make them for you. You are, therefore, responsible for obtaining any financial, legal or other professional advice that you may consider necessary to support any decision you make.
Crowded House Decluttering accepts no liability for your decisions or the consequences of them.
Hours of Work
You will be invoiced between my arrival and departure times (including breaks) from the property.
Bookings will be made based on a pre-agreed (estimated) time period. However, please note it is not always possible to know how long a job will take. Depending on the pace at which we work together and the progress we make, it may be necessary to schedule additional hours to finish the project. This could be as a continuation of the session (if time permits) or by scheduling additional sessions.
Working hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, depending on your location. Weekends and evenings by arrangement only. Minimum 3 hours booking.
Refreshments and Breaks
We will take breaks as and when they are needed. I will bring my own lunch (if working at lunchtime), drinks and refreshments with me. Breaks are included in the session time.
Fees
The hourly rate is £40 (in your home weekday), and £50 weekends and evenings.
Duty of Care
You have a duty of care to ensure that the property is safe to work in, and you agree to disclose any circumstances that might put me at risk. For example, infectious diseases or structural flaws to your property.
For the purposes of safety and emergencies another person will always know our location and session timings.
Please arrange for pets and children to be kept safe while our work is in progress.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Crowded House Decluttering is a professional service and will not share any personal or business details without your consent, save as required or permitted by law or by relevant regulatory authorities.
Testimonials
Crowded House Decluttering welcomes testimonials and feedback. By providing a testimonial, you consent to it being published on www.crowdedhousedecluttering.com, on Crowded House Decluttering’s social channels and other marketing collateral. When these are published only limited details will be shared so you remain unidentifiable.
Before and After Photos/ Videos
I will take before and after photos/ videos with your consent. These will be used primarily for my professional development and for reference and planning purposes. These will only be shared for marketing purposes with your consent.
Insurance
Crowded House Decluttering has public liability and professional indemnity insurance up to £1,000,000 which is activated upon signature of the Terms & Conditions document. You agree to cover any breakages through your home contents insurance.
Payment Terms
Payment can be made by card, bank transfer, cash or cheque (Payable to Victoria Little). Payment can be made at the end of a session. Alternatively an invoice will be issued within seven days of completing a session and will be due 7 days later. Please use invoice number when making electronic payments.
Cancellation
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel a session. Cancellations received with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at 50% of the pre-booked session price.
Travel and Parking
Crowded House Decluttering is based in Addlestone in Surrey. Projects where journey time is more than 30 minutes (by car) will be considered on a case by case basis and may incur additional travel costs.
Where free parking is not available, parking expenses will be submitted with your invoice for reimbursement.
Drugs or Alcohol Use
Drugs or alcohol use is not permitted during sessions. Crowded House Decluttering reserves the right to terminate a session at any time, and any funds paid may be forfeited, if there is reason to believe the client is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Personal Safety and Respect
Crowded House Decluttering appreciates that strong feelings can arise during sessions, however to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all involved, any form of physical or verbal abuse is unacceptable. In the event that such behaviour occurs, the session will be terminated and any funds paid may be forfeited.
